Yvonne (Boucher) LaFond, 91, of 104 Church St., Gardner, died unexpectedly Saturday, March 4th in her residence.
Born in Gardner on October 1, 1914, she was the daughter of John and Melina (Daviau) Boucher.
She was a housekeeper employed at the former Gardner State Hospital for 12 years, retiring in 1976.
She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. She was a member of Gardner Golden Agers.
Mrs. LaFond enjoyed cooking, reading and family gatherings. She especially loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Her husband of 62 years, Emmanuel A. LaFond, died in 2003.
She leaves 1 son, Raymond F. LaFond and wife Linda of Gardner; 1 sister, Beatrice Patriquin of Gardner; 3 grandchildren, Jennifer Reynolds and husband Edward J. of Worcester, Karen M. LaFond of Weymouth, Stephanie LaFond and fiance Jeremy Barstow of Brighton; 2 great-grandchildren, Jillian and Robert Reynolds of Worcester; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by 2 brothers, Ralph and Wilfred Boucher.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 8th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 166 Cross St., Gardner. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Tuesday, March 7th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart School, 53 Lynde St., Gardner, MA 01440 or to Gardner Visiting Nursing Assn., 34 Pearly Lane, Gardner, MA 01440.
