Willie " Doll-Boy" Harris, Jr., 62, of Gardner, died peacefully Sunday, December 11, 2016 in Gardner Rehabilitation and Nursing Center of Gardner, following a brief illness.
Born in St. Louis, MO on July 29, 1954, he was the son of Willie Harris, Sr. and Ida (Johnson) Harris, and was raised in Washington, DC.
Willie was a machine operator employed by Specialized Paper Converting Inc. of Gardner for seven years, retiring in 2015. He was previously employed by H & R 1871 Inc. of Gardner.
Willie was a member of Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner.
He enjoyed playing cribbage and tonk, watching Westerns of television and listening to Motown music. Willie loved sports, especially basketball. He treasured spending time with his family.
He was predeceased by his wife of 24 years, Denise A. (Bourque) Harris.
Besides his parents of Washington, DC, he leaves one son, U.S. Army Major Willie Harris III and his wife Susan of South Korea; one daughter, Megan C. Parker and her husband Jeremy of Gardner; three grandchildren, Emma B. Maylin, Cameron Harris and Skylar Harris; several aunts, uncles, two nieces, one nephew and several cousins. He was predeceased by his brother, Theodore Harris and sister, Daisy Ellison.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, December 19th at 5:00 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner.
A calling hour will be held Monday, December 19th from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
