William R. LaRoche, Sr

November 22, 1949 — July 1, 2008

William "Bill" R. LaRoche, Sr., 58, of 24 Kraft Street, Gardner, died Tuesday, July 1st at 224 Otter River Road, Templeton.

Born in Gardner on November 22, 1949, he was the son of the late Lester and Lorraine (Leger) LaRoche.

Prior to retiring five years ago, Bill was a Firefighter employed by the City of Gardner for many years.

He graduated from Gardner High School with the class of 1968.

Bill was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, Gardner. He was a member of the Polish American Citizen Club, Gardner.

Bill enjoyed carpentry and woodworking. He enjoyed watching and was a strong supporter of his son Nick's skating career.

He was married to the former Bernadette J. Voisine.

Bill was a United States Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War, serving from 1968- 1972, and received the National Defense Service Medal.

He leaves three sons, William "Jack" R. LaRoche, Jr. and his wife Jennifer of Gardner, Shawn H. LaRoche and his fiancée Courtney Johnston of Gardner and Nicholas L. LaRoche of Los Angeles, CA; one daughter, Tricia M. LaRoche of Littleton, CO; three brothers, Atty. Paul LaRoche and his fiancée Eileen of Gardner, Jules LaRoche and his wife Dorothy of Gardner and Phillip LaRoche and his wife Diane of Hadley; one sister, Theresa "Tinky" McGuiness of Gardner; six grandchildren, Zakary, Cameron and Karizma LaRoche, Shawna Johnston, Willie and Brooke Iwanik all of Gardner; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a son, David A. LaRoche who died July 7, 2003, one brother, Lester LaRoche, Jr., and one sister, Lea LaRoche.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 7th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.

Calling hours in the funeral home are Sunday, July 6th from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
