William F. "Butch" Gary, Sr., 77, of 12 Champney Road, Greenfield, MA, and formerly of Hubbardston, MA, died Tuesday, April 10th in Soldiers Home, Holyoke, MA.
Born in Gardner on October 5, 1929, he was the son of William E. and Louise (Lashua) Gary.
William was a truck driver, employed by Digital Equipment Corporation in Maynard for 15 years, retiring in 1990. He was previously employed by Temple-Stuart in Baldwinville.
William was a member of Holy Spirit Church, Gardner. He was also a member of the AARP. William enjoyed bowling.
William was a United States Korean War Air Force Veteran
His wife of 53 years, Rose M. (Hough) Gary, died in 2003.
He leaves 2 sons, William F. Gary, Jr. and his wife Cynthia of Douglas, MA and Steven M. Gary and his wife Elizabeth of Greenfield, MA; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and several cousins. He was predeceased by a son, Daniel J.Gary who died in 2003.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 14th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, with a Mass at 12:30 p.m. in Holy Spirit Church, 50 Lovewell Street, Gardner. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Friday, April 13th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
