William J. Doyle, Jr., 60 of Gardner and Zephyrhills, Florida, died Sunday, February 5, 2017 in Florida Hospital of Zephyrhills, FL, surrounded by his family, following a long illness.
Born in Dorchester, MA on October 9, 1956, he was the son of William J. Doyle, Sr. and the late Joanne M. (Deibel) Doyle.
William graduated from Hudson Catholic High School of Hudson, MA with the Class of 1975. He received his Bachelors Degree in Business Management from Anna Maria College in 1995.f
He was a Software Engineer employed by Coghlin Electrical Contractors, Inc. of Worcester for a few years. He was previously employed by EMC Corporation and Digital Equipment Corporation.
William was a United States Army Captain who served in the Army National Guard for over twenty years and received the Good Conduct Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.
He was a member of Holy Spirit Church of Gardner. William was also a member of the Caleb Butler Lodge, A.F. & A.M. Masonic Lodge of Ayer, MA.
William enjoyed hunting and traveling, and had a passion for cars and motorcycles.
He leaves his wife of 26 years, Aileen V. Iverson-Doyle of Gardner and Zephyrhills, FL; his father, William J. Doyle, Sr. and wife Carol of Westborough; two sons, Evan C. Doyle and his wife Avery of Sutton, and Gregory B. Doyle of Gardner; two brothers, Andrew Doyle of Franklin, and Douglas Doyle and his wife Eileen of Westborough; two sisters, Joanne O'Regan and her husband Thomas of Duxbury, and Mariellen Nathman and her husband Douglas of Hopkinton; three grandchildren, Lilliana, Emma and Hadley Doyle; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, February 13th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 11:30 a.m. in Holy Spirit Church, 50 Lovewell Street, Gardner. Burial with Military Honors will be in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon.
Calling hours will be held Sunday, February 12th from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
