William L. "Bill" Cormier, 72, of 121 Williams Rd., Ashburnham, died Friday, March 4th in his residence following an illness.
Born in Fitchburg on May 7, 1932, he was the son of Philip and Odile (Arseneault) Cormier.
He owned and operated Cormier Plumbing of Ashburnham for 33 years, retiring in 2004.
He was a 1950 graduate of Cushing Academy, Ashburnham and graduated from Saxon Trade School, Leominster.
He was a member of St. Anne's Church, South Ashburnham.
He was a great family man, enjoyed working around the house, and built his present home. He was a baseball and football fan, especially the Red Sox and Patriots. He was a car enthusiast.
Mr. Cormier was a member of Co. B, 1st Bn. 181st Infantry Massachusetts National Guard of Gardner from 1949 to 1959.
He leaves his wife of 46 years, Jeannette I. (Cormier) Cormier of Ashburnham; 1 son, David W. Cormier and his wife Madeline of Ashburnham; 1 daughter, Brenda H. Larocque and husband Dale of Rindge, NH; 1 brother, Dennis Cormier of Ashburnham; 1 sister, Nancy Ray of Franklin, NH; 3 grandchildren, Nathan Cormier, Christian and Sarah Larocque; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 8th at 11:00 a.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Tuesday, March 8th from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
