William T. Bowne Jr.

William “Tom” Thomas Bowne Jr, 64, of Gardner, died unexpectedly Friday, May 19, 2023, in his home.

Born in Amsterdam, NY, on July 16, 1958, he was the son of Jeanne (Schwarz) and the late William T Bowne Sr. He graduated from Pilgrim High School in Warwick, RI, with the class of 1976. He earned a bachelor’s of electronics engineering technology in 1980 from the Ohio Institute of Technology, now DeVry University. Tom was a Project Technician I.C. employed by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology for many years.

Tom loved playing and listening to music. He would frequently play his guitar, as well as his banjo. He was a wood worker, and a cabinet maker. He was a hard worker, continually doing home renovation rehab. When the inside projects were complete, he enjoyed landscaping the outside of his home. Tom had a love for animals, especially his own two cats.

Tom was a man of deep Christian faith, who loved God, his family, his friends, and his country. He is deeply missed.

Besides his mother, Jeanne Bowne of Fort Plain, NY, Tom is survived by his two children, Zachary and Brittany Bowne of Shelburne Falls, MA; two sisters, Holly Bowne of Fort Plain, NY, and Constance Bowne of Baldwinsville, NY; As well as several, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

There are no funeral services. A simple graveside service will be held this summer at the Pine Grove Cemetery, in the village of Tribes Hill, NY.
