William J"Bill" Belliveau

William J. "Bill" Belliveau, Sr., 78, of Gardner, formerly of Fitchburg, died peacefully, Wednesday, July 5, 2017 in Heywood Hospital of Gardner, following a brief illness.
Born in Fitchburg on August 19, 1938, he was the son of the late Joseph C. and Louise A. (DeBarge) Belliveau.
Bill attended St. Joseph's School of Fitchburg and was a member of St. Joseph's Church of Fitchburg in his early years. In his later years, he attended Mass at Our Lady of the Lake Church of Leominster.
Bill was employed by James River Paper Company as a machine tender for several years, retiring in 1995.
He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox. He loved horseracing, trips to Foxwoods, and the ocean - especially Old Orchard Beach, Maine. Bill enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved to be in the company of others, and he loved helping people. He was always willing to lend a hand to anyone who needed his help.
Bill was predeceased by his wife, Patricia A. (Fairbanks) Belliveau, who died in 2001.
He leaves three sons, William J. Belliveau, Jr. and his wife Rebecca of Ashburnham, Robert Belliveau of Gardner, and David Belliveau and his wife Esther of Oak Island N.C.; one daughter Penny Murray and her husband Jack of Leominster; two brothers, Thomas Belliveau and his wife Nancy of Leominster, and Steven Belliveau of Detroit, MI; five sisters, Geraldine Jennings of Lunenburg, Judith Dunbar and her husband Bill of Fitchburg, Carol Belliveau and her husband Armand of Nova Scotia, Diane Keenan and her husband Brandon of Fitchburg, and Nancy Nettelblat and her husband Ricky of Fitchburg; fourteen grandchildren, Jaime, Joseph, James, Allyson, Nicole, Jennifer, Christina, Jonathan, Erin, Joshua, Curtis, Anthony "Tony", Julianna and Samantha; several great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Bill was predeceased by his son, Douglas Belliveau who died in 2006; one brother, Edward Belliveau; three sisters, Beverly Tarbill, Elaine "Cookie" and Joan Barrieault.
A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, July 15th at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Lake Church, 1400 Main Street, Leominster.
There is no burial or calling hour.
Family and friends are asked to report directly to the church the morning of the services.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
