October 6, 1951 — February 24, 2008

Wendy J. Rothemund, 56, of 91 Regan St., Gardner, died Sunday, February 24th in UMASS Memorial Hospital, University Campus, Worcester, surrounded by her family, following a brief illness.

Born in Oceanside, CA on October 6, 1951, she was the daughter of John J. and Virginia (Sedgewick) Rothemund.

At the time of her death she was a personal care attendant at the Templeton Developmental Center, Templeton where she worked the last five years. She was formerly a bank teller at Fidelity Bank of Gardner.

Wendy was a 1969 graduate of the Acton-Boxborough Regional High School. She was awarded an Associates degree in Liberal Arts from Mount Wachusett Community College in Gardner in 1997 and in 2000 she received a Bachelor of Science degree at Fitchburg State College, Fitchburg.

She was a member of the Sierra Club and the C.E.R.T. Club. Wendy enjoyed spending time outdoors, walking her dog, "Baby" and especially loved spending time with her granddaughter, Trinity.

She leaves 2 sons, Robert J. Kirkpatrick and his wife Paige of Virginia, Gene Robbins IV of Gardner; 3 daughters, Jaime Kirkpatrick of Georgia, Melissa S. Robbins and her fiancé Aaron Bridge of Gardner, Jillian R. Robbins of Mt. Desert Island, Maine; 1 brother, John J. Rothemund and 1 sister, Lisa Rothemund both of California; and 6 grandchildren. She also leaves her former husband, Gene Robbins III of Templeton.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 28th at 11:00 a.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner.

A calling hour at the funeral will be Thursday, February 28th from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Gardner Animal Shelter, 899 West Broadway, Gardner, MA 01440 or to a charity of the donor's choice.
