Warren Earl Rathburn, 73, of 5 Colonial Drive, Westborough and formerly of Jacksonville, VT, Baldwinville and Gardner for the past 45 years, died Saturday, May 12th in the Westborough Health Care Center following a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.
Born in Templeton on December 26, 1933, he was the son of Christopher E. and Rachel H. (Perkins) Rathburn.
Warren was a chair assembler employed by Nichols & Stone Co. of Gardner for 33 years until retiring in 1994.
He was a member of the American Legion Eugene M. Connor Post 193 of Winchendon. He was an avid motorcyclist and he enjoyed gardening, walking, crossword puzzles and playing with his grandchildren.
Warren was a U. S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War.
He leaves his wife of 44 years, Elizabeth A. (Hill) Rathburn of Gardner; 1 son, Brian K. Rathburn of Fitchburg; 1 daughter, Linda M. Ross and her husband Robert N. Ross of Gardner; 2 brothers, Carl B. Rathburn and his wife Connie of Keene, NH, Donald E. Rathburn and his wife Charlotte of Templeton; 1 sister, Ruth M. Cramb and her husband Donald of Jaffrey, NH; 2 grandsons, David R. Ross and Adam J. Ross of Gardner; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Myrtel L. Wisted.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 15th at 1:00 p.m. from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Winchendon.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Tuesday, May 15th from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
