Ward A. Brigham, 80, of Gardner, died peacefully Thursday, April 13, 2023, in Heywood Hospital, Gardner, after an illness.
Born in Morristown, New Jersey, on October 14, 1942, he was the son of the late Ward E. Brigham Jr. and Eunice (Basley) Brigham. He graduated from Rutherford High School with the Class of 1960, from Rutgers University with Bachelors Degree in 1964, and from Fairleigh Dickinson University with a Masters Degree in 1968. Ward was a Research Operations Manager employed by Petersons Publishing Company for many years until his retirement.
Ward was a member of the Central Jersey Umpires Association and part of the Williamsport Tomahawks Front Office. He loved baseball and was very involved with leagues throughout. Ward also enjoyed politics and, at one point, was the president of the New York Eastside Democratic Club. He had a knack for adventure, and he enjoyed traveling to the Caribbean and Hawaii and taking road trips.
Ward is survived by his son, Ward A. Brigham Jr. and his wife Gina of Texas; a daughter Krystal Taylor and her wife Brittany Jones of Virginia; fourteen grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a sister, Barbara Stepkowski and her husband Gregory; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, May 19, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. in the Cathedral of the Pines, 10 Hale Hill Road, Rindge, NH.
Memorial Contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Please reference in memory of Ward A. Brigham.
