W. Scott Smith, 59, of 37 Oriole St., Gardner, died Sunday, April 21st in his residence, after a brief illness surrounded by his family.
Born in Gardner on November 23, 1953, he was the son of Paul and Mary (McAdams) Smith.
At the time of his death he was a Systems Operator employed at the Westminster Department of Public Works. He was previously employed at the Westminster Police Department from 1978 to 1996 and also the Westminster Fire Department from 1992-1993. Scott also worked for his brother Bradley at Brad's Refrigeration of Wesminster.
He was a 1972 graduate of Oakmont Regional High School.
Scott enjoyed watching television and his greatest enjoyment was spending time with family. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He leaves his wife of 11 years, Peo (Bour) Smith of Gardner; two stepsons, Odom Chhoeuy of Gardner and Piseth Chhoeuy of Attleboro; a brother, Bradley Smith and his wife Gail, of Wesminster; a sister, Paula d'Entremont and her husband Francis of Gardner; two aunts, Beverly Palmieri of Athol and Betty Davidson of Phillipston; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his sister, Sherrill Manning.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 29th at 11:00 a.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner. Burial will be in Woodside Cemetery, Westminster.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Monday, April 29th from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Greater Gardner Relay for Life, 44 Bearfoot Road, Suite 1C, Northborough, MA 01532.
