Vieno V. (Puustinen) Freeman, 85, of 349 Parker St., Gardner died Saturday, April 23rd in Heywood Hospital, Gardner, following an illness.
Born in Gardner on March 28, 1920, she was the daughter of William and Vieno (Salmonen) Puustinen.
She was an upholsterer employed by Heywood-Wakefield Co. of Gardner for 25 years until retiring in 1980. She previously worked at Fontaine Bros. of Gardner.
She was a 1938 graduate of Gardner High School.
She was a homemaker who loved her family.
Her husband, Gardner Police Officer Raymond H. Freeman died in 1986.
She leaves 2 daughters, Joyce M. Sisco and husband William Jr. of Winchendon, Sheila Freeman of Leominster; 1 brother Robert T. Puustinen of Gardner; 4 sisters Martha Wood, Helen Heglin, Ina Puustinen all of Gardner, Dorothy Laferriere Viena, VA; 3 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
All services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial of cremains will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Gardner at a later date.
There are no calling hours.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
The Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner is in charge of arrangements.
