Victoria J. "Vicky" Blake, 68, of Gardner died Sunday, February 5, 2017 in Beaumont Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Center of Worcester, following a long illness.
Born in Gardner on November 18, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Edward A. Blake and Dena (Turnmire) Blake.
Vicky graduated from Gardner High School with the Class of 1966. During her high school years, she was a baton twirler with the GHS Marching Band. She earned her certificate in Medical Transcribing in 1968.
Vicky was employed by Cushing Academy of Ashburnham as an Administrative Assistant for 20 years, retiring in 2015. Following retirement she worked in the Pro Shop of the Gardner Municipal Golf Course.
Vicky was a member of the former Sacred Heart of Jesus Church of Gardner.
She enjoyed sewing, and was extremely talented in arts and crafts. She enjoyed spending time golfing, bowling, dancing and listening to music. She loved going to the beach and spending time at the ocean. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Vicky leaves two sons, Dr. Sean E. McCauley and his wife Dr. Jennifer McCauley of Shirley and Ryan W. McCauley of Winchendon; two sisters, Donna R. Beise of Ham Lake, MN and Mary Pat Blake of Harvard, IL; three grandchildren, Ella, Adelyn and Austin McCauley; three nieces, Dena Beise, Heidi Christopher, and Alison Bagneschi and her daughter Isabella; three nephews, John Beise, Jeff Beise and Aaron Barrett; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. She was predeceased by her twin sister, Virginia J. Blake who died in 1996; and by her former husband, William P. McCauley who died in 2004.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 11th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours will be held Saturday, February 11th from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to benefit the GHS Color Guard and Marching Band may be made to the Williams-Rockwell Educational Gift Fund, c/o Mayor of Gardner's Office, 95 Pleasant Street, Gardner, MA 01440. Please note in memory of Victoria J. Blake.
