Victor A. "Sonny" Bagdonas, 79, of 165 Sherman Street, Gardner, died Friday, December 11, 2015 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, Lake Ave, Worcester, following a brief illness.
Born in Gardner on November 30, 1936, he was the son of the late John J. and Stacey (Wingus) Bagdonas.
Victor was employed by Simplex Time Recorder as an Inspector for 40 years, retiring in 2001.
He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church of Gardner. Victor served for six years with United States Marine Corps Reserves.
Victor loved being in the woods and was a true outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting, fishing and snowmobiling. He also loved going on long car rides. Victor adored his two dogs, Max and Maggie.
He was an associate member of the Otter River Sportsman Club and was a member of Ducks Unlimited.
Victor leaves one brother, Charles Bagdonas and his wife Cookie of Gardner; two nieces, Julie Bagdonas of Fitchburg and Jill Drury of Buzzards Bay; and several great nieces and great nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Ruth Thompson.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, December 16th at 12:00 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Gardner.
A calling hour will be held Wednesday, December 16th from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Gardner Animal Control Facility with checks made payable to City Gardner Shelter Fund, c/o Board of Health, 95 Pleasant Street, Room 29, Gardner, MA 01440.
