Vance H. Burns

Vance H. "Pa" Burns, 63, of 217 Park Street, Gardner died suddenly Wednesday, February 1, 2012 in UMass Memorial Medical Center, Worcester, after being stricken ill.
Vance was born in Winchendon on November 29, 1948, the son of the late William J. and Clarice (Ball) Burns.
At the time of his death he was employed as a lab technician for the Town of Templeton for many years. He was previously employed by American Tissue of Templeton.
Vance graduated from Murdock High School with the Class of 1966. He was a United States Vietnam War Army Veteran and was a member of the American Legion Post 129 of Gardner.
He enjoyed cooking with his smoker, mowing the lawn, Sunday dinner and cherished spending time with his friends, family and grandchildren.
Vance leaves three sons, Michael J. Burns of Gardner, Jacob A. Burns and his wife Taryn of Matthews, NC and Ryan P. Burns and his wife Amber of Terre Haute, IN; one daughter, Jennifer L. LeClaire and her husband John of Gardner; two brothers, Kent Burns and his wife Lucille of Leicester and Chandler Burns of Gardner; nine grandchildren, Justin LeClair, Courtney Burns, Jace LeClair, Emerson Burns, Marleaux Burns, Bailey Burns, Casey Prouse, Robert Klingler, Crystal Prouse and Ethan Burns; his Goddaughter, Whitney Chaplin of Westminster; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by one brother, William Burns; one sister, Jewel Ragsdale; and by his daughter in law, Jessica Burns.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, February 6th at 12:30 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 GlenAllen Street, Winchendon.
A calling hour in the funeral home will be Monday, February 6th from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
