Valerie J. "V.J." (Gallant) Marcinkiewicz, 53, of Gardner and formerly of 32 Ken Drive, Gardner, died Tuesday, January 31st in Heywood Hospital, Gardner, following a long illness.

Born in Gardner on July 11, 1952, she was the daughter of Omer J. and Helen (Carter) Gallant.

She was a jewelry salesperson employed by J.C. Penney Co. of Leominster for 18 years until retiring recently due to illness.

She was a 1970 graduate of Gardner High School.

She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church. She enjoyed dancing, singing, movies, walking, making people laugh, going out to lunch, going to Hampton Beach, NH and spending time with her family.

She leaves 2 daughters, Corrie A. Marcinkiewicz and boyfriend Scott Marcello of Fitchburg, Lindsey M. Marcinkiewicz of Leominster and boyfriend Christopher Ryder of Hyannis; 1 sister, Carole A. Cotton and husband David of Acton; her former husband David A. Marcinkiewicz; 4 aunts, Ruth LeBlanc of Gardner, Harriet Birt of Cornelia, GA, Marion Critchett of New Market, NH and Geneva Carter of Winchendon; 1 nephew Mark A. Cotton of Millis and her longtime friend, John L. Griffin of Gardner.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 4th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols St., Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.

Calling hours at the funeral home are Friday, February 3rd from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Susan B. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, PO Box 415012, Boston, MA 02241-5012.
