Urbain J. Arsenault, 76, of 16 Lovell St., Westminster, died Friday, January 14th in Health-Alliance Leominster Hospital, Leominster, following an illness.
Born in Rumford, ME on February 12, 1928, he was the son of Frank and Lucie (Comeau) Arsenault.
He owned and operated Arsenault Egg Farm in Gardner for 20 years, reitiring in 1975.
He was a member of St. Edward the Confessor Church of Westminster. Mr. Arsenault was a member of V.F.W. Ovila Cast Post 905 of Gardner and United Co-Op Farmers of Fitchburg. He enjoyed fishing, listening to country music and playing guitar and harmonica.
He was a World War II U.S. Army Veteran and received the Army of Occupation Medal, World War II Victory Medal and Middle Eastern -European - African- Theatre Campaign Medal.
His wife of 51 years, Catherine E. (Girouard) Arsenault died in 2004.
He leaves a daughter, Elaine M. (Soler) Sheerin and husband Thomas of Gardner; 2 grandchildren, Karen M. and Brian M. Soler; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He also leaves a dear cousin, Eusebe Arsenault of Gardner. He was predeceased by a brother, Francis Arsenault.
A Memorial Mass will be held Wednesday, January 19th @ 10:00 a.m. in St. Edward the Confessor Church, 10 Church St., Westminster. Burial in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner, will be at a later date.
