Ulysse R. Cormier, 86, of 175 Euclid Street, Gardner, died peacefully Tuesday, February 10, 2015 in Heywood Hospital, Gardner, surrounded by his family.
He was born in St. Damien, N.B. Canada on November 23, 1928, the son of the late Adolph and Ida (Leblanc) Cormier.
Ulysse was a machinist employed by Simplex Time Recorder of Gardner for 19 years, retiring in 1990. He was previously employed by American Fiber of Gardner.
He was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner. He was also a member of the Templeton Fish and Game Club.
Ulysse enjoyed walking, watching television and hunting. He loved taking trips to Canada, and was a loyal fan of the Montreal Canadiens. He treasured spending time with his family.
Ulysse leaves his loving wife of 62 years, Aline M. (Cormier) Cormier of Gardner; three daughters, Yvette M. Albert and her husband Joseph of Gardner, Linda A. Boucher and her husband Ronald of Rindge, NH and Nicole M. Cormier and her husband Roger of Gardner; three brothers, Herve Cormier and his wife Marie of St. Antoine, N.B. Canada, Leopold and his wife Alfreda Cormier of St. Antoine, N.B. Canada and Rene Cormier and his wife Ernestine of Notre Dame, N.B. Canada; five sisters, Rose Cormier of St. Antoine, N.B. Canada, Odette Cormier of St. Antoine, N.B. Canada, Zella Robinson of St. Antoine, N.B. Canada, Dianna Cormier of Moncton, N.B. Canada and Anne-Marie Girouard and her husband Aurele of St. Joseph, N.B. Canada; two sister-in-laws, Edna Cormier of Leominster and Rita Cormier of Gardner; five grandchildren, Joseph Albert, Jr., Rachel Darling, Crystal Richard, Roger Cormier, Jr. and Keith Cormier; eight great-grandchildren, Michael, Cody, Alyssa, Joshua, Amber, Ashley, Courtney and Landon; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by three brothers, Arice Cormier, Leonard Cormier and Marc Cormier.
A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, February 17th at 6:30 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner. Reverend Frederick Fraini III will officiate. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner at a later date.
Calling hours will be held prior to the service on Tuesday, February 17th from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
