Thomas R. Mailloux, 94, of Gardner, died peacefully Tuesday, September 12, 2023, in his residence.
Born in Worcester on June 8, 1929, he was the son of the late Rosaire E. Mailloux and Tyyne (Kujanpaa) Mailloux. He graduated from Gardner High School with the Class of 1947. Thomas was a United States Army Korean War Veteran serving from 1951 to 1953 and the Army Reserves until 1957. He received his Associate's Degree in Accounting from Worcester Junior College in 1956 and later received his Bachelor of Business Administration from Clark University in 1958. Thomas was the Assistant Treasurer of Gardner Savings Bank in Gardner for 33 years, retiring in 1991.
Thomas was a parishioner of Annunciation Parish of Gardner, practicing at its Holy Spirit Chapel. He was a 4th-degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council 396 Bishop Beaven Assembly, a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 747 of Gardner, and a member of the Gardner Rabbit Club, and a trustee and volunteer to the Gardner Museum. Thomas was an avid bowler, golfer, and football and baseball fan, rooting for the New England Patriots and Boston Red sox. Above all, his family was his pride and joy, and he cherished the time he could spend with them.
Thomas is survived by a son, James T. Mailloux and his wife Karen of Hubbardston; two daughters, Diane M. Meany and her husband John Jr. of Gardner, and Shirley J. Mailloux-Randall and her husband William of Aurora, Ohio; one daughter-in-law Dianne Mailloux of Scottdale, PA; seven grandchildren, Derek, Brett, John, Jesse, Jamie, Brendon, and Lindsay; five great-grandchildren Sophia, Aubree, Parker, Charlie, and Nate; several nieces and nephews.
Thomas was predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Doris R. (Cormier) Mailloux, who died October 07, 2012; a son, Leonard M. Mailloux, who died November 09, 2016; and his siblings Lillian and Leonard.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, September 20, 2023, from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA, with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Annunciation Parish at Holy Spirit Chapel, 50 Lovewell Street, Gardner, MA. Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery, West Street, Gardner, MA 01440.
Calling Hours will be held Tuesday, September 19, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
