Therese M Maillet

Therese M. (Pitre) Maillet, 81, of 12 Ash Street, Gardner died peacefully and returned to her maker, Tuesday, September 15th in UMass Memorial Medical Center, Lake Ave N, Worcester, surrounded by her children.

Born in Canada on November 27, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Rosaline (Blaquiere) Peters.

Therese graduated from high school in Canada, and attended secretarial school also in Canada.

She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, Gardner.

Therese devoted her life to raising her children and being a homemaker. She enjoyed playing cards, reading, watching religious programs on television and praying the rosary.

Therese was predeceased by her husband of 45 years, Yvon J. Maillet who died July 14, 1999.

She leaves three sons, Ronald J. Maillet and his wife Debora of Leominster Raymond J. Maillet of Royalston and Paul R. Maillet of Chester, VA; four daughters, Atty. Nancy M. Binder and her husband Atty. Peter Binder of Gardner, Linda M. Maillet and her significant other Lucie Farrar of Loudon, TN, Rachel C. Maillet of Gardner and Paulette D. Maillet of Ashburnham; three sisters, Regina Collette of Moncton, NB Canada, Rosalie Martin of Rogersville, NB Canada and May Bourgeois of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada; five grandchildren, Jessica and Katie Maillet, Amanda Algarin, Richard Binder and Brittany Gesner; four great-grandchildren, Jailyn, Anthony and Giovanni Algarin and Emma Binder; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Therese was predeceased by one son, Norman F. Maillet who died in 2006; one grandson, William G. Martin who died in 1982; four brothers, Joseph Pitre, Francis Pitre, Victor Pitre and Ambrose Peters; and by two sisters, Lorette Black and Bella LeBlanc.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 19th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.

Calling hours in the funeral home will be Friday, September 18th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
