Theresa "Terry" P. (Hagwood) Simkewicz, 48, of 349 High Street, Gardner, died Sunday, December 31st in Hewood Hospital, Gardner, following a long illness.
Born in Fitchburg on October 6, 1958, she was the daughter of the late Ruben S. and Leona T. (Scott) Hagwood.
Terry was self-employed Daycare Provider in Gardner.
She graduated from Leominster High School, Leominster with the class of 1977. She attended Mount Wachusett Community College, Gardner.
Terry loved going to the beach and the ocean. She enjoyed decorating her home. Terry was an avid fan of her children's sporting events, never missing a game. Her favorite times were spent with her family.
Besides her mother Leona T. Hagwood of Fitchburg, she leaves her husband Christopher M. Simkewicz, whom she married August 20, 2003; one son, Kyle R. Duval and one daughter Kayla A. Duval both of Gardner; two brothers, Robert S. Hagwood and his wife Jacqueline of Baldwinville, Clifford J. Hagwood and his wife Eleanor of Gardner; five sisters, Sandra L. LeBlanc and her husband Roger of Leominster, Margaret A. Weinberg of Vancouver, British Columbia, Linda M. DiNardo of Templeton, Cathy R. Turbiner and her husband Steven of Tuscon, AZ, and Gail B. Basilo and her husband David of Fitchburg, several nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces and great- nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 4, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Winchendon.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Wednesday, January 3, 2007 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Memorial contributions may be made to either the American Cancer Society, New England Division, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701 or to the Oncology Department of Heywood Hospital, 242 Green Street, Gardner, MA 01440.
