Theresa E. (d'Entremont) (Poirier) McKean, 96, of Gardner, died peacefully Tuesday, July 11, 2023, in Wachusett Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Gardner, after an illness.

Born in Woburn on April 16, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Edward C. and Victoria E. d'Entremont. Working for her late husband Leo, Theresa was the Secretary to the President employed by Moulded Corrugated Paper Inc. in Templeton for 17 years before her retirement in 1990.

Theresa was a parishioner of Annunciation Parish of Gardner, where she practiced at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church. She loved to sew, read a good book, and work around the house. Theresa also held her pilot's license and enjoyed flying when she had the chance. 

Theresa is survived by her stepdaughter, Karen A. Kelley and her husband former Mayor Daniel J. Kelley of Gardner; a brother, Francis d'Entremont of Leominster; three nieces, Ruth d'Entremont of Cary, NC, and Elizabeth Viens of Royalston, and Victoria Eaton of Baldwinville; and two nephews, Joe B. Cote of Hubbardston and Leo E. Cote of Worcester.

She was predeceased by her first husband of 52 years, Leo “Red” J. Poirier, who died in 2004; her second husband, former Mayor Charles P. McKean, who died in 2014; a sister, Alice d' Entremont; and her brother, Edward d'Entremont.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, July 14, 2023, from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA, with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Annunciation Parish at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA. Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, West Street, Gardner, MA.

Calling Hours will be held Friday, July 14, 2023, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
