Theresa R. Leger

Theresa R. (Gallant) Leger, 97, of Gardner, died peacefully with her family and friends by her side on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, in Gardner Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Gardner.

Born in Rumford, Maine on January 25, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Amedee and Lena (Jolin) Gallant. She graduated from Gardner High School with the Class of 1942 and attended Mount Wachusett Community College. Theresa was a secretary at New England Wooden Ware for 15 years prior to her retirement.

Theresa was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church. She was a member of the Gardner Senior Center and the Quilting Guild. Thereas enjoyed doing yoga, crocheting, quilting, and sewing - making various items for family and friends throughout the years. Here greatest joy was her family, treasuring all the time spent together.

Theresa is survived by her daughter, Catherine Rahaim and her husband David of Gardner; three grandchildren, Brian Leger and his wife Cara of Leominster, Elizabeth Cookson and her husband Mark of Manchester, NH and Michelle Heffner and her husband Scott of Gardner; four great-grandchildren, Sage Leger, Benjamin Heffner, Daniel Heffner and Ciara Cookson; several nieces and nephews, and her “guardian angel”, Diane LeBlanc.

She was predeceased by her husband Roger A. Leger Sr, who died in 1995; her son, Roger A. Leger Jr. and his wife Jeanne; and her siblings, Yvette Aube, Irene Gauthier, Bertha Krzykowski, Arthur, Joseph and Alfred Gallant; and her dear friend, Virgina Rahaim.

Theresa loved and was grateful to her “extended family” at Gardner Rehab – Dawn, Pam, Darius, Mariam, Polly, Diane, and Anna.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, November 9, 2023, from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA, with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA. Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, West Street, Gardner, MA.

A calling hour will be held Thursday, November 9, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
