Theresa Desroche

Theresa "Marraine" Desroche, 86, of 174 Lakeshore Drive, Ashburnham, died Thursday, April 5th in Heywood Hospital, Gardner, following an illness.

Born in Standish, Maine on October 31, 1920, she was the daughter of Pius and Alice (Boudreau) Desroche.

She was a Licensed Practical Nurse employed by Gardner State Hospital for 6 years, retiring in 1976. She previously worked at Boston State Hospital, Boston.

Theresa was a 1939 graduate of Gardner High School and received her nursing degree from Gardner State Hospital School of Nursing.

She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church. She enjoyed quilting, knitting and doing crossword puzzles. Theresa was an avid reader.

She leaves two nephews, Michael Thibeault of Ashburnham, Richard Thibeault of Gardner, his wife Michelle Thibeault of Plaistow, NH and their two children, Alicia Thibeault of Derry, NH and Thomas Thibeault of Plaistow, NH; 2 sisters, Doris D. Richard of Gardner, Rita Berube and her husband Robert of Fitchburg; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by 2 sisters, Marie Eliason who died in 2003 and Alice Thibeault who died in 1971.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 10th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner, with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols St., Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.

Calling hours at the funeral home will be Monday, April 9th from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
