Theodore G. "Ted" Benoit, 61, of 167 Hubbardston Road, Templeton, died peacefully, Tuesday, June 17th in Heywood Hospital, Gardner, following a brief illness.
Born in Leominster on October 28, 1952, he was the son of the late Philias L. and Irene (Doucette) Benoit.
Ted was a truck driver employed by Aggregate Industries of Lunenburg for 8 years.
He graduated from Leominster High School with the Class of 1970.
Ted was an avid outdoorsman who loved to go fishing, boating, lobstering, camping and hunting. He was known as Mr. 50/50 for his many years of volunteering at Narragansett Regional High School sporting events. Ted was also known for his signature lines, "thanks for coming in... " and "got 2 10's for a 5?"
He leaves his wife of 20 years, Diane M. (Bacon) Benoit of Templeton; two sons, Christopher J. Nardone of Gardner and Ben T. Benoit of Templeton; one daughter, Sherry L. Benoit-Corriere and her wife Rose-Marie Benoit-Corriere of Leominster; one brother, Louis C. Benoit and his wife Caroline of Leominster; two sisters, Gloria I. Cormier and her husband John of Leominster and Doris E. Benoit; five grandchildren, Mario Adamo, Roger R. LaCross, Ryan R. LaCross, Shane M. Lacross and Kiara M. Benoit-Corriere; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Ted was predeceased by one brother, Emile Benoit.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, June 21st at 12:00 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner.
Calling hours will be Saturday, June 21st from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
