Thelma J Koczan

Thelma J. “T.J.” (Gronlund) Koczan, 90, of Baldwinville, formerly of Gardner, died peacefully Monday, June 10, 2019 in Alliance Health at Baldwinville, following a long illness.

Thelma was born in Gardner on January 31, 1929, the daughter of the late William and Emelia (Lervik) Gronlund. She graduated from Gardner High School with the Class of 1947. Thelma was employed by Fort Devens as a Purchasing Agent for 20 years, retiring in 1989. She was previously employed by L-Z Kamman Company, Inc. of Gardner.

She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church of Gardner. Thelma enjoyed bowling, reading and was fascinated by finance. She was a golf enthusiast and was the first woman to attain a ‘Hole In One’ at the Gardner Municipal Golf Course. She was a member of the Gardner Chapter of AARP and the Gardner Golden Agers.

Thelma was predeceased by her husband of 45 years, Charles Koczan who died in 2010; and by her brothers, Helmer-Erik Gronlund, Chester Gronlund and Gerald Gronlund.  She leaves her sister-in-law, Lois Gronlund of Gardner; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral Services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family.
