Terry L."Papa" Smith

Terry L. "Papa" Smith, 61, of 19 Brooks Village Rd., Templeton, died unexpectedly Tuesday, December 30th in UMASS Medical Center, University Campus, Worcester, surrounded by his family.
Born in Gardner on December 17, 1947, he was the son of William and Eilleen (Ahearn) Smith.
Terry was a chemical operator last employed by Chemical Design Co. of Fitchburg for 11 years. He was a foreman formerly employed by the Boston & Maine Railroad for 17 years.
He received his GED in 1988. Mr. Smith was a loyal Red Sox fan and enjoyed collecting model trains, fishing and watching wrestling.
He leaves his wife of 41 years, Donna M. (Hill) Smith of Templeton; 3 sons, Jeffrey L. Smith and his wife Anne of Winchendon, Danny W. Smith and his fiancée Melanie Hodgkins of Auburn, Jay R. Smith and his wife Melissa of Gardner; 1 daughter, Carol A. Connors and her husband Daniel of New Ipswich, NH; 2 brothers, Michael Smith and his wife Linda of Tampa, FL, James Smith and his wife Ann of Templeton; 1 sister, Nancy Hammond and her husband Edward of Templeton; 11 grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 3rd at 2:00 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner. Rev. Joseph J. Jurgelonis, pastor of Holy Cross Church, E. Templeton, will officiate. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery, Templeton, will be at a later date.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Saturday, January 3rd from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
