Sylvia L. “Via” (Landry) (Brewer) Efverman, 99, of Gardner, died peacefully Monday, October 29, 2018 in Wachusett Manor Nursing Home of Gardner.
Sylvia was born in Gardner on November 14, 1918, the daughter of the late Joseph and Emma (Maillet) Landry.
She was employed by Thayer Manufacturing of Gardner for many years, and was later employed Dainty Maid of Fitchburg as a stitcher for 17 years.
Sylvia was a member of Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner.
She enjoyed reading, spending time with her family and was an avid walker.
Syliva was predeceased by her husband of nine years, Robert Efverman who died in 1979; and by her first husband, William Brewer who died in 1976.
She leaves two daughters, Dorothy E. Leger-Lore of Gardner, and Winifred R. Shaughnessy and her husband Ronald of Bay Minette, AL; two brothers, George Landry of Gardner and Joseph Landry, Jr of Leominster; one sister, Rita Murphy of AZ; three grandchildren, Robert Leger, Jr and his wife Sue, Richard Leger and his wife Diane, and Lee Shaughnessy and his wife Candy; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Sylvia was predeceased by her siblings, Robert, Arthur, Ernest, Joseph Elide and Francis Landry.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 3rd with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, 115 Mount Elam Road, Fitchburg.
