Sylvia M. (LeBlanc) Couture, 85, of 32 Hospital Hill Road, Gardner, formerly of 24 Union Street, died Tuesday, November 14th in Wachusett Manor Nursing Home, Gardner, surrounded by her family.
Born in Bouctouche, N.B. Canada on October 11, 1921, she was the daughter of Fidele and Eugenie (Collette) LeBlanc.
Sylvia was a sales associate employed by Sears Roebuck & Co. of Gardner for 15 years, until her retirement in 1980. She was previously employed by Florence Stove as a welder.
Mrs. Couture was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church in Gardner.
Her husband of 50 years, Robert P. Couture, died in 1999.
Sylvia is survived by one son, Daniel R. Couture of Gardner; three daughters, Diane M. Guertin and Patricia A. Taylor both of Hubbardston, and Roberta A. Borkowski of Gardner; one brother-in-law, Leonard Couture of Gardner; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Herve LeBlanc and Edouard LeBlanc; two sisters, Agnes Tourigny and Cecile Casavant.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 17th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
A calling hour at the funeral home will be Friday, November 17th from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
