Susan E. "Suzie" (Morrissey) Magnan, 56, of 32 North St., Gardner, loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, died Monday, October 10th from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident in Shelburne Falls.

Born in Northampton on September 24, 1949, she was the daughter of Robert J. and Jane (Gorman) Morrissey.

She was a 1967 graduate of Amherst Regional High School, attended the University of Rhode Island and in 1975 received an Associates Degree in Childhood Education from Northern Essex Community College, Haverhill. She was working toward a Master Gardener Certificate from the Tower Hill Botanical School - Clark University, Worcester.

Suzie was a horticulturist employed most recently by Lake View Landscaping and Nursery, Winchendon. She was previously employed by IRS in Andover for 17 years.

She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church.
She was a member of Massachusetts Horticultural Society and the Gardner Garden Club. She enjoyed gardening, biking, kayaking, camping, fishing, cooking and birdwatching. She was an avid reader and wrote poetry. She especially loved her family.

She leaves her husband of 9 years, Jeff Magnan of Gardner; 1 son, Ethan D. Williams and wife Lisa of North Hampton, NH; 1 daughter, Laura W. Butts and husband Joseph of Raleigh, NC; 2 brothers, Robert J. Morrissey Jr. and wife Marie Claire of Paris, France, Paul D. Morrissey and wife Jenifer of Portland, ME; 2 sisters, Jane Morrissey of Easthampton and twin sister of the deceased, Martha A. Hanley and husband Peter of Waterbury, CT; 2 grandchildren, Isabella and Francesca Williams; 1 aunt, Dorothy Gorman of Jamaica Plain; 2 nieces, 1 nephew and several cousins.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 15th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner with a Mass at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols St., Gardner. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Gardner.

Calling hours at the funeral home are Friday, October 14th from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross, Katrina Fund, North Central Chapter, 310 Central St., Gardner, MA 01440.
