Susan P. Bridges

Susan P. (Houle) Bridges, 68, of Gardner, died peacefully Thursday, February 10, 2022, in Heywood Hospital, Gardner, after a brief illness.

Born in Newport, Vermont, on June 18, 1953, she was the daughter of the late Anatole and Irene (Angers) Houle. She attended North Country Union High School. Susan worked at Indian Head wood mill in Newport for many years. Susan was a Clerk employed by Stop & Shop of Gardner for many years.

Susan was a member of the North County Street Rods. She enjoyed going to car shows, where she especially loved to look at Rat Rods. Susan also greatly enjoyed traveling and vacationing—visiting many places throughout her life. Her family was her life, always treasuring the special moments spent together.

Susan is survived by her Life Long Companion Charles Ballou of Gardner Mass. Her two daughters, Renee Colburn and her husband Aaron of Lyndonville, VT and Crystal Grenier and her husband Alex of West Charleston VT; seven grandchildren, Devin, Dustin, Alysha, Mykela, Michael, and Matthew and Erica; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Pauline Cota and her husband Gary of Derby, VT; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was predeceased by her mother Irene Marie Angers, father Anatole J. Houle and her sister and brother-in-law Solange and Jean Pierre Maclure of Newport VT.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, June 18, 2022, at 12:00 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, Patriots Road, Templeton, MA.

Calling Hours will be held Saturday, June 18, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
