Stella M. (Miller) Uppgard, 84 of 51 Hospital Road, Baldwinville and formerly of 378 Parker Street, Gardner, died Thursday, May 24th in the Baldwinville Nursing Home.
She was born in Gardner on December 30, 1922, the daughter of the late Philas and Mina (Morin) Miller.
Mrs. Uppgard was an upholsterer employed by Collier-Keyworth Co. of Gardner for 15 years, until retiring in 1987. She was previously employed by Fontaine Brothers for several years.
Mrs. Uppgard was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Gardner, and its Rosary Devotion group. She was a member of the Gardner Fraternal Order of Eagles - Women's Auxiliary, Aerie 747 and the Gardner Golden Agers.
Stella enjoyed playing bingo and knitting. She especially loved time spent with her family.
She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Harold P. Uppgard, who died in 1996.
She leaves 2 sons, David P. and Carl F. Uppgard both of Gardner; and 4 daughters, Helen L. Johnson and her husband Thomas of Natick, MA, Nancy M. Yellen and her husband James of Orwell, VT, Gail A. Murphy of Gardner and Sandra M. Savage and her husband David of Winchendon; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 31st from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 166 Cross Street, Gardner. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Wednesday, May 30th from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
