Stella A. Allain, 81, of 59 Eastwood Circle, Gardner died peacefully January 10th in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, Belmont St., Worcester, surrounded by her family, following a long illness.
Born in Gardner on September 12, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Henry P. and Virginia L. (Cormier) Allain.
Prior to retiring in 1968, Stella was a Graphic Arts Designer for many years for several various establishments in Los Angeles, CA.
Stella was educated by the Sisters of the Presentation and the Sisters of the Good Shepherd.
Stella was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, Gardner.
Her Catholic faith was a very strong aspect in her life and she enjoyed studying the Catholic religion. Stella also enjoyed painting.
Stella leaves three brothers, Dr. Ernest L. Allen and his wife Merylin of Lake City, FL, Henry N. Allain and his wife Carol of Riverside, CA and Paul G. Allain and his wife Sandi of Gardner; five sisters, Doris M. Robinson and her husband James of Chehalis, Washington State, Therese L. Morin of Gardner, Jeannette I. Stefancik and her husband Robert of Orange, Rachel E. McPherson and her husband Forest of Westminster and Alice V. Thomaidis and her husband George of Leominster; one brother-in-law, William Fontaine of Holyoke; one aunt, Goldie Sheperdson of Gardner; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by one brother, Sylvio J. Allain and one sister, Isabelle Fontaine.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 14th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
A calling hour in the funeral home will be Thursday, January 14th from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
