Shirley L. Koziol

Shirley L. (Tootill) Koziol, 84 of 51 Hospital Road, Baldwinville and formerly of 27 Main Street, Templeton, died Friday, December 14, 2012 in the Baldwinville Nursing Home, Baldwinville.
She was born in Athol on May 3, 1928, the daughter of the late Walter and Viola (Fontaine) Tootill.
Shirley was employed by L. S. Starrett Company in Athol as a Tool Inspector for several years, retiring in 1990. She was previously employed by the former Heywood Wakefield Company of Gardner as a finisher, and Heywood Hospital of Gardner as a Nurses Aide.
Shirley graduated from Athol High School, Athol with the Class of 1946.
She was a member of St. Martins Church in Otter River. Shirley was also a member of the American Legion Post 102 Women's Auxiliary, of Athol.
Her hobbies included knitting, reading, cooking, walking and playing Bingo. Shirley enjoyed watching soap operas and game shows on television. In her early years, she enjoyed roller skating at Whalom Park in Lunenburg. She most enjoyed spending time with her family, whom she loved dearly.
Shirley was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, John J. Koziol, Sr., who died in 1994.
She leaves two sons, John J. Koziol, Jr. of E. Templeton and Michael Koziol of Gardner; one daughter, Susan J. Arsenault of Templeton; ten grandchildren, Benjamin and Daniel Koziol, Robert and Richard May, Timothy and Kenneth Hayden; Deborah Gentile, Darlene Theriault, Kelly and Bradley Arsenault; ten great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by one son, Mark Koziol who died in 1994; one daughter, Linda May who died in 1978 and by one brother, Wayne Tootill and by two sisters, Claire Longley and Phylis Joly.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, December 19th at 11:00 a.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner. Reverend Joseph Jurgelonis will officiate. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, December 18th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
