Sheila T. (Gonyeo) Forget, 88, of Gardner, died peacefully Monday, February 17, 2025, in Gardner Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Gardner, after a period of declining health.
Born in Gardner on November 14, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Mary (Collins) Gonyeo. She graduated from Gardner High School with the Class of 1955. Sheila was a telephone operator employed by New England Telephone for 34 years until her retirement.
Sheila was a member of the Gardner Senior Center, where she and her husband actively participated in many of their programs. She enjoyed working on crossword puzzles and taking daily walks. Sheila loved music and loved it even more when she was dancing to it with her beloved husband. They also enjoyed traveling and took countless trips over the years while enjoying their retirement.
Sheila is predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Albert H. Forget, who died in 2021; four sisters, Dorothy Brooks, Shirley Arsenault, Pearl Livingston, and Marguerite Salo; and two brothers, Stanley J. and Richard P. Gonyeo.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
By Sheila’s wishes, graveside services at Crystal Lake Cemetery, Gardner, MA, will be private.
