Shawn M Rushia

Shawn M. Rushia, 42, of 6 Main Street, Otter River, died peacefully Saturday, May 21, 2011 in Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston following a long battle with cancer.
He was born in Gardner on July 20, 1968, the son of Donald J. Rushia, Sr. and Dorothy Carol (Davis) Rushia of Baldwinville.
Shawn graduated from Gardner High School with the Class of 1986. He was a finish carpenter for many years. He was previously employed for several years as a car detailer for Stanley's Garage and Salvadore Auto Group both of Gardner.
Shawn was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church in Gardner. He loved spending time outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.
Besides his parents he leaves one son, Jamieson A. Rushia of Winchendon; one daughter, Mackenzie E. Rushia of Winchendon, two brothers, Kevin P. Rushia of St. Petersburg, FL, Donald J. Rushia, Jr of Gardner; two sisters, Heidi A. Laingren and her husband Kenneth of Winchendon and Kathleen M. Longo of Gardner; the mother of his children, his former wife Traci Doiron of Winchendon; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by one brother, Christopher J. Rushia who died in 1998.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 28th at 11:00 a.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be at a later date.
A calling hour in the funeral home will be Saturday, May 28th from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
