Shawn D."Harry" Harris

Shawn D. "Harry" Harris, 48, of 216 Sheldon Road, Barre, died peacefully, Wednesday, January 15, 2014 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, Worcester following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Gardner on January 9, 1966, he was the son of Margaret (Sawyer) Harris and the late Danny Harris.
Prior to recently retiring due to his illness, Shawn was a concrete worker employed by Tolman Brothers of Hubbardston.
He attended Narragansett Regional High School of Baldwinville, and later achieved his GED.
He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, four wheeling and spending time at his cabin in Harmony, Maine. Shawn most enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
He was a member of the South Barre Rod and Gun Club.
Besides his mother, Margaret (Sawyer) Harris of Templeton, he leaves two daughters, Melissa M. Harris and her companion Billy of Gardner and Chelsie L. Harris of Baldwinville; his companion and best friend, Kirsten Grudzinskas of Barre and her daughters, Ali and Erika Grudzinskas; one brother, Dwayne J. Harris of Templeton; one sister, Brenda D. Bishop and her husband Glenn of Phillipston; three grandchildren, Brynnlie, Aubrey and Maycie; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 18th at 11:00 a.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner. Reverend Joseph Jurgelonis of Holy Cross Church in East Templeton will officiate.
Calling hours will be held Friday, January 17th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Montachusett Veterans Outreach Center, Inc., 268 Central Street, Gardner, MA 01440.
