Scott S. Richard, 58, of 271 Waterford St., Gardner, died Sunday, June 30th at home surrounded by his family, following a yearlong battle with cancer,
Born in Acadieville, N.B. Canada on October 14, 1954, he was the son of Joseph D. and Fernande (Gallant) Richard.
Scott was an IT Service provider employed by Akibia, Inc. of Westboro for 2 years until retiring in 2008. He was previously employed The Ergonomic Group of Chelmsford and Computerland of Worcester.
He was a 1973 graduate of Montachusett Regional Vocational Technical School of Fitchburg and attended GTE Sylvania Technical School in Waltham and Mount Wachusett Community College in Gardner.
He was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, Gardner.
Scott was a member of the Acadien Social Club, a member and past-director of the Templeton Fish & Game Club and the Greater Gardner Youth Hockey Association. Scott enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, tinkering with mechanical parts and owned Echo Auto Parts of Gardner, but his greatest pleasure was spending time with family.
Besides his parents of Gardner, he leaves his wife of 36 years, Rae-Anne (Martin) of Gardner; 3 sons, Todd M. Richard and his wife Danielle LeBlanc; Brad S. Richard and his wife Tricia; Chad S. Richard and his significant other Melissa Burdette, all of Gardner; 4 brothers, Coral Richard and his wife Dianne, Donald Richard and his wife Linda, Bernard Richard, Michael Richard and his wife Terrie, all of Austin, TX; 5 grandchildren, Aubrey, Alivia, Gavin, Kylie Richard, Bruce Garvick; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, July 3rd from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols St., Gardner.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Tuesday, July 2nd from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
