Sandra L."Sandy" Laplante

Sandra L. "Sandy" (Emerson) Laplante, 64, of 12 Pine Avenue, Ashburnham, died Thursday, October 22nd in Heywood Hospital, Gardner, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Ashburnham.

Sandra was born in Fitchburg, on April 18, 1945, and was raised by her mother, Virginia (Jarvis) Albert and stepfather, Raymond J. Albert.

Prior to retiring recently, Sandra was a sales associate employed by Westminster Pharmacy, Westminster, for six years. She was formerly employed by the Music Forum in Fitchburg and the Learning Express in Leominster.

Sandra graduated with honors from Fitchburg High School, Fitchburg with the Class of 1963.

She was a member of the Red Hat Society and enjoyed square dancing with the Montachusett Twirlers.

Sandra loved the ocean, enjoyed traveling to Maine and camping in Old Orchard Beach, Maine. She enjoyed traveling to Vermont to square dance.

Sandra leaves her husband of 45 years, Donald P. Laplante of Ashburnham; one son, Brian S. Laplante of Dublin, NH; three daughters, Michelle I. Smolinsky and her husband Stephen of Ashburnham, Karen A. Jess and her husband Scott of Gardner and Lori A. Maki and her husband Wayne of Fitchburg; eight grandchildren, Daniel J. Smolinsky, Scott M. Jess, Jr, Ryan D. Jess, Angel L. Jess, Alexis R. Laplante and Jamisen R. Laplante, Dillin W. Maki and Allie M. Maki; several aunts and uncles; one niece, and two nephews. She was predeceased by one brother, Carl R. Emerson, Jr.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 28th at 11:00 a.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner. Reverand John E. Horgan will officiate. Burial will be in New Cemetery, Ashburnham.

Calling hours will be in the funeral home Tuesday, October 27th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
