Sally J"Nana" Caron

Sally J. (Hardy) "Nana" Caron, 69, of 47 Lake Street, Gardner, died Monday, November 24, 2014 in her residence, surrounded by her family, following a brief illness.
Sally was born in Winchendon on February 21, 1945, the daughter of the late William T. and Doris (MacPherson) Hardy.
She was employed by the Templeton Developmental Center of Baldwinville as a food server for several years, retiring in 2006. She was owner/operator of Sally's Lunch from 1985 through 1996. She was previously employed by Catholic Charities as a Home Health Aide, and was also a waitress for many old time Gardner restaurants.
Sally was a member of the Gardner High School Booster Club for many years, and also volunteered at Head Start Services in Gardner.
She loved cooking for and with her family, and will always be remembered for her famous cheesecakes. She enjoyed camping, going to York Beach in Maine, and she loved holiday parties. Sally treasured spending time with her family, friends and grandchildren. She took great pride in watching her grandchildren play hockey for many, many years. Sally formerly owned several rental properties in town, and was always quite generous and giving to her less fortunate tenants. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Sally was predeceased by her first husband, Charles H. Stanley who died in 1969, and by her second husband, Stanley R. Caron who died in 1989.
She leaves one son, Stanley R. Caron, Jr. of Gardner; two daughters, Melinda A. Adams and her husband James of Gardner and Paula A. Maillet and her husband Claude of Gardner; one brother, William Hardy and his wife Rose of Winchendon; one sister, Linda Nason and her husband Elbert of Templeton; two sisters-in-law, Donna Hardy of Winchendon and Connie Johnson of Westminster; five grandchildren, Neil Adams, Dale Adams, Amber Caron, Chelsea Maillet and Nate Maillet; two step-children; three step-grandchildren; several brothers and sisters-in-law; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She also leaves her spouse, Vincent Valliere. She was predeceased by her brother Frederick Hardy and sister Carol Rios.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 29th at 12:00 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be held at a later date in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours will be Saturday, November 29th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
