Ruth A. (Collins) Ryan, 76, of Gardner, died peacefully Monday, February 19, 2018 in HealthAlliance Hospital of Leominster, following a brief illness.
Ruth was born in South Portland, Maine on September 1, 1941, the daughter of the late Alfred and Phebe (McDonald) Collins. She graduated from Derry High School of South Portland, Maine with the Class of 1959.
Ruth was employed by Sears, Roebuck and Company of Leominster as a Sales Associate for several years, retiring in 1983.
She enjoyed reading, and loved vacationing with her children and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ruth had the gift of gab, and was an incredible woman who took great pride in being a homemaker.
Ruth was predeceased by her husband of 44 years, Robert F. Ryan, who died August 29, 2009.
She leaves four daughters, Ruth Waldron of Nevada, Phebe Francoeur of Worcester, Elizabeth Jolicoeur of North Carolina and Bobby-Jo Broeckel and her husband Steven of Baldwinville; one son, Ernest Murphy of Michigan; eleven grandchildren, Zachary, Seth and Emilie Ryan, Timothy Burgess, Alicia Evans, Danielle Chapman, Heather Murphy, Mark and Matthew Waldron, Autumn and Brooke Broeckel; eight great-grandchildren, Ethan, Isabella and Anthony Chapman, Alexander Francoeur, Mykenzie and Ivy Ryan, and Hailey and Jackson Maloch; nieces, Sherrie Gardner, Liz Collins and Amy Collins and several additional nieces, nephews and cousins. Ruth was predeceased by her brother, William Collins.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 24th at 2:30 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner.
A calling hour will be held Saturday, February 24th from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
