Ruth C"Ruthie" Dahir

Ruth C. "Ruthie" (Winter) Dahir, 88, of 206 Central Street, Gardner, died peacefully Tuesday, September 29, 2015 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, Lake Ave N, Worcester, following a brief illness.
Born in Breese, Illinois on November 22, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Anna (Karloff) Winter.
Ruthie graduated from Anniston Community High School of Germantown, Illinois with the Class of 1944.
She was employed by Mount Wachusett Community College of Gardner for 42 years as a Staff Assistant, retiring in 1991.
Ruthie was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church of Gardner.
She enjoyed playing Bingo, going to yard sales and reading. She loved spending time with her family and friends.
Ruthie leaves one daughter, Patricia Sabulis and her husband Joseph of Gardner; one sister-in-law, Toni Dahir; two grandchildren, Scott Cormier and Shannon Cormier; seven great-grandchildren, Christian, Jason, Trevor, Nathan, Devin, Jaylah and Ryan; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by two brothers, Alvin and Louis Winter; and by four sisters, Pauline Billhartz, Eleanor Winter, Dorothy Beckman and Marie Warnecke.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, October 6th with a Mass at 11:00 am in Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in St. Johns Cemetery, West Street, Gardner.
There are no calling hours.
