Ruth M. Allard

Ruth M. (Duplessis) Allard, 90, of Notre Dame Long Term Care Center, Worcester, formerly of Gardner died peacefully, Tuesday, August 14, 2012 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, 119 Belmont Street, Worcester.
Ruth was born in Gardner on October 28, 1921, the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Cormier) Duplessis.
She graduated in 1939 from the former Our Lady of the Holy Rosary High School of Gardner. Ruth attended the Presentation of Mary Academy in Granby, Quebec, Canada.
She was employed for many years as a clerical worker for Metropolitan Life Insurance Co., both in Gardner and New Orleans. She was previously employed by Florence Stove Company.
Ruth was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, Gardner. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Paul Allard, who died in 2001.
Ruth leaves two brothers, Martin Duplessis and his wife Beverly of Templeton and Bertrand Duplessis and his wife Janice of Templeton; three sisters, Doris Meunier and her husband Roger of Templeton, Valerie Vallee of Linwood and Anna-Mary Durand and her husband Pierre of Ware; her son-in-law, Richard Johnson of Mulbourne, FL; two sister-in-laws, Judith Ashworth of Weare, NH and Anne Duplessis of Deep River, CT; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her daughter, Charmaine Johnson who died in 1982; five brothers, Reverend Omer Duplessis, Howard Duplessis, Rudolph Duplessis, Aldei Duplessis and Donald Duplessis; and by two sisters, Florine Duplessis and Marie Duplessis.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, August 23rd at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
