Rosemary Esther "Aunt Mae" Ducharme, 76, of 459 Park St., Gardner, died Monday, February 6, 2006 in the Leo P. LaChance Center for Rehabilitation & Nursing, Gardner, following a long illness.

Born in Gardner on November 1, 1929, she was the daughter of Frank E. and Esther J. (Brown) Ducharme.

She was an Arts & Crafts Teacher employed by the Worcester Girls' Club for 25 years until retiring in 1991. She owned and operated "Aunt Mae's Crafts" at her home.

She was a 1948 graduate of Gardner High School and was a member of Chestnut Street Methodist Church of Gardner.

She enjoyed reading , knitting and loved cats. She was a member of Mariners Girl Scout Troop and won several regattas at Camp Collier where she was crew captain and counselor.

She leaves 1 sister, Patricia M. McPherson of Gardner; several nieces, nephews, cousins, grandnieces, grandnephews, a great-grandnephew and a dear cousin and friend, Norma E. Smith. She was predeceased by 3 brothers, Richard A. Smith, Francis J. and Lawrence A. Ducharme, and 1 sister, Dorothy S. Prendergast.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 10th at 1:00 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner. Burial will be in Green Bower Cemetery, Gardner.

Calling hours at the funeral home are Thursday, February 9th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
