Rosella M."Rosie" Osterberg

Rosella M. "Rosie" (Lucasevicius) Osterberg, 102, of 233 Conant St., Gardner, died peacefully Thursday, June 20th in UMASS Medical Center, University Campus, Worcester.
Born in Gardner on December 12, 1910, she was the daughter of Joseph and Annie (Adamitis) Lucasevicius.
Rosie was a machine operator employed at Harrington & Richardson Co. of Gardner for 9 years until retiring in 1970. She was previously employed by the former Florence Stove Co. of Gardner.
She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church and was a member of Gardner Senior Citizen A.A.R.P.
Mrs. Osterberg was an avid card player, especially progressive rummy, bingo player, gardener, and baker. She enjoyed radio talk shows and was a loyal fan of the Boston Red Sox. Her enjoyment was spending time with her family. Whenever she had the opportunity, driving her friends to Cape Cod was her greatest passion.
Her husband of 26 years, Walter "Skinny" Osterberg, died in 1966.
She leaves one son, Lawrence Osterberg and his wife Rose of Gardner; 4 daughters, Carol M. Graves and her husband Kenneth of Westminster, Ann C. Osterberg of Burlington, Iowa, Elizabeth Shepard and her husband Guy of Georgetown, Ellen R. Mason of Gardner; one sister, Monica "Minnie" Hakkinen of Gardner; 10 grandchildren, 9 greatgrandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 3 brothers, Joseph Lucasevicius, Lawrence Lucasevicius, Sylvester Lucas, and 2 sisters, Helen Hakkinen and Annie Kraskouskas.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 25th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner, with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 166 Cross St., Gardner. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Tuesday, June 25th from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
