Rose D. (Bernier) Duval, 82, of 81 Fairlawn Ave., Gardner, died Sunday, October 8th in Heywood Hospital, Gardner, following a short illness.
Born in Greenville, NH on June 6, 1924, she was the daughter of Wilfred and Eva (Lavery) Bernier.
Rose was an assembler employed at Simplex Time Recorder Co. of Gardner for 27 years, retiring in 1987. She was previously employed by the former Bernier's Diner of Gardner.
She was a 1943 graduate of Gardner High School where she was captain of the High School Field Hockey Team.
Mrs. Duval was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church. She was a loyal Red Sox fan and was considered a great cook. She loved her husband dearly as well as her family. Rose enjoyed walking and watching television.
She leaves her husband of 41 years, Edward Duval of Gardner, several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by 4 brothers, Adam "Bob", Dan, Roland, Roger Bernier, and 5 sisters, Cecile Dines, Blanche Jensen, Gertrude Bernier, Eleanor Page and Marcella Zebrowski.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 10th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner, with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols St., Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
A calling hour at the funeral home will be Tuesday, October 10th from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
