Rosalie M. "Rose" Maillet, 97, of 19 City Hall Avenue, Gardner died peacefully Thursday, June 18th in the Baldwinville Nursing Home, Baldwinville, following a brief illness.
Born in Bouctouche, N.B. Canada on August 29, 1911, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Lydie (Bernard) Maillet.
Prior to retiring in 1974, Rosalie was a bristling assembler employed by Dupont Plastics Manufacturing in Leominster. She was formerly a Sister with the Sisters of Notre Dame Du Sacre Coeur of Moncton, N.B. Canada for 35 years.
Rosalie was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, Gardner.
She enjoyed spending her time praying, being a homemaker and playing cards- especially rummy. She loved life, and treasured each and every day.
Rosalie leaves one brother, Gerard Maillet of Gardner; four sisters, Odette M. Niemela of Gardner, Huberte Martin of Gardner, Evangeline Sayers of Glasbury, CT and Lorraine Blomen of Rockledge, FL; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by one brother, Emile Maillet; and by five sisters, Edna Cramm, Aurore Maillet, Sister Marie Maillet of the Sisters of Notre Dame Du Sacre Coeur, Sister Lydie Maillet of the Sisters of Notre Dame Du Sacre Coeur and Barbara Maillet.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 22nd from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
A calling hour in the funeral home will be Monday, June 22nd from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
