Ronald G. "Ron" LeBlanc, 64, of 226 South Main Street, Gardner, died Thursday, January 9, 2014 in HealthAlliance Leominster Hospital, Leominster following a short illness, with his family by his side.
Born in Gardner on June 27, 1949, he was the son of Gerard and Theresa (Jalbert) LeBlanc.
Ronald graduated from Gardner High School, Gardner with the class of 1967.
He was a United States Vietnam War Air Force Veteran, and received the National Defense Service Medal.
Ronald was employed by United Water of Gardner, formerly City of Gardner Water and Wastewater, as an Operations Specialist for 38 years, retiring in 2012.
He was a member of Holy Spirit Church, Gardner.
Ronald was very active in Scouting, and was the Assistant Scout Master of Troop 6 of Gardner. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, kayaking and cross country skiing.
He was a member of the Zoning Board of Appeals for the City of Gardner during the past year, a Bishop Bevan Fourth Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus of Fitchburg, the American Legion Post 129 of Gardner and the United Retired State Employees.
He leaves his wife of 39 years, Patricia A. (Dubuque) LeBlanc of Gardner; his mother, Theresa (Jalbert) Leblanc of Gardner; one son, Richard A. LeBlanc of Gardner; one daughter, Sandra E. LeBlanc of Orlando, Florida; four brothers, Robert LeBlanc and his wife Gloria of Ware, Gary LeBlanc and his wife Theresa of Hubbardston, Phillip LeBlanc of Templeton and Kenneth LeBlanc and his wife Tammy of Broomfield, CO; three aunts, Claire Perry of CT, and Claire Perry and Nora Mason both of Gardner; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, January 13th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Holy Spirit Church, 50 Lovewell Street, Gardner. Burial will be held at a later date in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Winchendon.
Calling hours will be Sunday, January 12th from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
Memorial contributions in Ronald's name may be made to the Boy Scouts of America, Nashua Valley Council, 1980 Lunenburg Road, Lancaster, MA 01523, or to the Simonds-Sinon Regional Cancer Center, 275 Nichols Road, Fitchburg, MA 01420.
