Romeo A. Richard, 87, of 17 Warwick Road, Gardner died peacefully, Wednesday, July 4, 2012 in Heywood Hospital, Gardner.
He was born in Gardner on February 27, 1925, the son of the late Josephat and Irene (Roy) Richard.
Romeo graduated from St. Joseph's College in Berthierville, Quebec, Canada with the Class of 1943.
He was a United States World War II Marine Veteran and received the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Ribbon with three battle stars, the Presidential Unit Citation with star, the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with star, the American Theater Ribbon and the Good Conduct Ribbon.
Romeo was employed by Bard Manufacturing Company in Fitzwilliam, NH as an assembler/inspector. He was previously a waiter/ bartender.
He was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, Gardner.
Romeo leaves his sister, Lorraine M. Cormier and her husband Aurele J. of New Port Richey, FL; his dear friend, Michael Aukstikalnis of Gardner and several cousins.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, July 9th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 10:00 a.m.in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours will be Sunday, July 8th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
